County Outlines Mod.

The original US County Boundaries Mod, and outline files for all US counties, was authored by Bret Rumsey.
A set of .xml files that contain latitude/longitude based polygons can be downloaded at:

I added 'en' England, 'sl' Scotland, 'wl' Wales, 'ni' N.Ireland into the $state-List of the config file*** before installing with Mod Manager.

In 1917 parliamentary constituencies were redrawn based on "administrative counties". This was the end of the last major administrative use to which the Historical Counties were put. The General Register Office then stopped producing detailed statistics for the Counties.

This is where the problem arises for genealogists because the modern UK geodata that is available is based on "administrative counties".
The UK county xml files I made are "HISTORIC" outlines.

In addition, for correctness, the following line could be added to the Notes field for each place:    Boundary is for "HISTORIC" County/Shire.

For this mod to work the place needs to end in UK just as one would use USA.
